The Public Scoping Period began on July 25, 2025, when the Department of the Air Force (DAF) published a Notice of Intent (NOI) in the Federal Register to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to evaluate the potential environmental impacts of the proposed beddown of two F-35A squadrons at Moody Air Force Base (AFB). The release of the NOI initiated a 30-day public scoping period, which continues until August 24, 2025. Public scoping is conducted in the early stages of EIS development to solicit comments from the public and agencies about potential issues that should be analyzed in the EIS, such as alternative actions and potential environmental effects.
Privacy Advisory Public input allows the DAF to make better-informed decisions. Letters or other written or verbal comments provided may be published in this EIS.
